In case you didn’t know (and I’m judging you if you didn’t), the Winter Olympics are in full swing, and so far we have seen some pretty spectacular performances. During the first few days of the Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, there has been plenty of curling (Stephen’s new favorite sport), alpine skiing, and biathalon, all of which have all been pretty epic to watch. But the best by far has been the figure skating. If you’re not into figure skating, then that’s too bad, because not only have the performances on the ice been epic (you go Mirai Nagasu!), the commentary from former Olympians Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir is next level too.
In addition to being spot on with their insights, their sometimes acerbic comments about people’s performances keep thing interesting, if not downright hysterical. But the real star of the show are Johnny Weir’s outfits. Not only have they been compared to the Hunger Games costumes, but SBNation has dedicated an entire post to tracking them over the course of the Games. But beneath all the sequins and gem-set chokers, I spotted a two-tone Rolex Datejust visible on his wrist. Johnny Weir is not a Rolex representative so this is one of those rare "non-sponsored" watch spottings that we all love. It’s a little tough to tell from the quick glimpses on TV, but it looks like this watch might even have diamond indexes too.
