Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced three new dial options for the Reverso Classic Large Duo Small Second as part of its Atelier Reverso program. This officially makes this trio the manufacture’s first customizable men’s watches. Atelier Reverso was introduced in 2016 to celebrate JLC’s 85th anniversary; initially only for women, it was launched with the Reverso Duo and Duetto models and allowed clients to customize their own watches, swapping out special dials and straps. Now, the Reverso Classic Large Duo Small Second joins the program, with Electric Blue, Military Marble, and Tiger’s Eye dials.
For women, the Atelier Reverso program includes seven models, with 49 dials and 800 straps, for a total of 5,277 different variations. That’s a lot of options. This design-your-own-watch strategy has become increasingly popular with Bulgari’s introduction of something similar at Baselworld just the latest instance.
The Reverso Classic Large Duo Small Second itself is available in stainless steel and it is powered by the manually-wound caliber 854A/2. It measures 47mm x 28.3mm and features dials on both sides to show two different timezones. The dial on the front is a combination guilloché and brushed dial with a small seconds indicator and the reverse dial (if you don’t customize it with one of the options here) has a Clous de Paris ground with an opaline dial set into it. But what you’re here for are the new exotic options.
The Electric Blue dial is closest to the dial you’re familiar with, with the same Clous de Paris pattern, only in an extremely vibrant looking shade of blue. Things get even more interesting from there though. The Tiger’s Eye dial puts solid brown registers in the center of a stone-effect dial that has horizontal stripes in varying shades of brown and gold. Finally, there’s the Military Marble, which sets matte green registers against a fatigue-green marble backdrop.
The original Reverso Classic Large Duo Small Second starts at $8,400, and pricing for the customized pieces will vary depending on dial and strap choice. Atelier Reverso watches can be configured either in a Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique or via the company’s mobile app. You can read more about the Atelier Reverso program on the Jaeger-LeCoultre website.
