Land Heritage was founded just after the Second World War by a Somerset farmer called Hugh Flatt who had become increasingly struck by how disconnected people had become from the land and from food production.
In 2004, London-based Together Design created this symbol to illustrate the charity’s love of the land.
Land Heritage, by Together Design, 2004, via Symbol, p168.
You won’t see it in use today, unfortunately, as in 2007, Land Heritage merged with the Paget Estate and the Soil Association to form the Land Trust.
Still a great idea.
