Naturmuseum St. Gallen

The building of the new Natural History Museum of St. Gallen extends the existing ensemble of public buildings and installations of the church of St. Maria Neudorf and the Botanical Gardens on the eastern edge of the St. Galler Kernstadt. The museum building is located opposite the Rohrschacherstrasse and the church complex as a visual reference and representative point of orientation through urban planning and stone materialization. At the same time, the new construction of the silhouette of the church is underneath and, with its outwardly visible roof structure, points to the functional, reserved language of the buildings of the Botanical Garden.
